The World’s Reception of Christ

“He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”
(John 1:10-12)

It is hard to imagine that there were those who rejected Jesus when He came into the world. He was the creator of all things, but they did not recognize Him primarily because their eyes were blinded. There are those today who tragically refuse to recognize Him, the creator of all things.

He came to the Jews and the Jews did not receive Him. They looked for a political leader who would lead them out from under the rule of the Roman government. One of the problems today is that men are looking for a Messiah of their own creation who will fit their imaginations of a deliverer.

But, praise the Lord, just as there were those who received Him as He walked the shores of Galilee, there are those today who receive Him by faith, believing on His name. As a result of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, they are children of God. Where are you in your belief system?
