“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there wore added unto them about three thousand souls.” (Acts 2:41)
It is good for a church to have additions and experience growth. The Jerusalem church heard the message then they gladly received the word and were baptized.
The text says there were about three thousand souls added to the one-hundred and twenty. We can attribute such an expansion in one day to the presence of the Holy Spirit just as Jesus had promised. Second, there was a sermon from the word of God.
For numerical and Spiritual growth to take place there must be preaching and teaching of God’s word and there must be a dependence on the Holy Spirit. We may not experience a one day in-gathering as they did, but like a seed planted in the ground, it will germinate and produce fruit. Be faithful.
