Is it Well with Your Soul?

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (III John 1:2)

Christians as well as non-Christians have sickness, crippling diseases and suffer from health issues. Paul had his thorn in the flesh. Epaphroditus was near death with some unnamed sickness. One of the greatest prayer warriors I have known was confined with crippling arthritis.

Apparently Gaius was a strong Christian but was in poor health with some unnamed malady. John prayed that Gaius’ health would improve and his health would prosper even as his soul prospered.

If the bodies and souls of folks would be equally healthy, a health epidemic would probably be declared. Oh, that today people were as conscious of the health of their souls as they are of the health of their bodies. We feed our bodies and go to the gym to exercise and neglect our souls forgetting our bodies will lie cold in the ground while our souls live on eternally.
