I have heard it said that sin will keep you from the word, or the word will keep you from sin. In this day of temptation to follow the devil to do evil and to live as the world lives, it is easy for young people to desire to be like their peers.
Have you noticed how it is “cool” to wear new jeans that look worn out with holes in the knees? They want to be “in.” We adults do not want to stand out as different either. We want to be accepted. But, being like the crowd can lead us down a dusty path of sin. We must come to the realization that we need to be cleansed from the ways of the world.
The source of cleansing for old and young alike is the precious word of God, guiding us in the way of salvation to the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are told, “…the holy scriptures are able to make us wise unto salvation, through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (II Timothy 3:16)
