In Love with God’s Word

“Oh how I love thy law! It is my meditation all the day. (Psalm 119:97)

In the first Psalm we find the writer telling us that the blessed or happy man delights in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night.

A friend of mine was in love with a beautiful young woman. She was all he could think about. In fact, she was all he wanted to think about. No one was surprised when he proposed marriage and she accepted. They were in love.

When we are in love with God’s word that is all we think about. The more time we spend in the Bible the more time we want to spend in it.

If reading and studying the Bible is a burden to you then you should spend more time, not less time, in it and more time with its author.
