Beyond the Point of no Return

“…But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and misused His prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against His people, till there was no remedy.” (II Chronicles 36:16)

In the 1960’s we took the Bibles out of the schools. We said the Ten Commandments could not be posted in the class rooms or public property, such as court houses. We said the Gideons International could no longer distribute New Testaments in the class room. We were not allowed to erect nativity scenes on public property. We can still do none of these things. However, we can take the Bible into prisons. That’s strange thinking. Look where this has taken us as a nation.

Judah mocked the messengers of God and despised God’s word. The wrath of God came upon them until there was no remedy. They went into Babylonian captivity and remained there for seventy years.

I wonder if while in captivity they ever thought of God’s word and their attitude about it before they were taken to Babylon.  What is your attitude toward God’s word?
