Struggling with a Problem? Call on God

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

Jeremiah was in prison. The nation of Judah was about to go into captivity to the Babylonians, and the prophet’s preaching, giving warning to the people, not only was unheeded, he was accused of being a traitor because he was preaching against the sins and lifestyle of the people.

God invites the prophet to call on Him and He would show Jeremiah things he did not know. God would raise up the descendant of David to sit on the throne and this new ruler would reign in righteousness. We know this ruler as Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

God invites us to call on Him when we are in the lowest of times and the most difficult of circumstances. What mountain are you facing? What obstacle stands in the way of your serving the Lord? Is there a health problem? Perhaps there is a family problem. Is there a sin that has you in its grip? Read the text again and lay the problem before the Lord.
