Is the Heat Turned up in Your Life?

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”(Romans 8:28)

When a lady serves a cake to her family she does not lay each ingredient out separately and issue teaspoons to the family members and have them eat each ingredient separately, one at a time. She first stirs the ingredients together, pours the mixture into cake pans and places them in a pre-heated oven where they bake until they are finished cooking. Then she will stack one layer on top of another and put icing on the outside. Alone, each ingredient is not good. But mixed together with other ingredients and baked properly it turns out pretty good.

When God takes all the ingredients of our lives and stirs them together, and allows the “heat” to be turned up, we can be assured that “all things work together for good.” An illustration of this is when Joseph’s brothers allowed him to be sold into Egypt.  Many years later, when they fearfully came to Joseph after their father Jacob died, Joseph said to them, “Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” (Genesis 50:19-20)
