…And He Died

“And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years and he died.” (Genesis 5:5)

I read recently that the dead out number the living by thirty to one. Someone said, “Death is the fairest thing there is. It is one per capita.” In Genesis five the phrase, “And he died,” is listed eight times. The only two exceptions are a man named Enoch and another named Elijah, the prophet of God. Even the Lord Jesus Christ, the very Son of God died.

Some folks do indeed live longer than others. King David’s baby boy died in infancy. Methuselah lived to be nine-hundred and sixty-nine years. But the Bible says, “And he died.” All will die unless Jesus soon returns.

The Bible says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to died, but after that the judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many…” (Hebrews 9:27-28)  When we appear in judgment we will stand by ourselves, lost, with our sins un-forgiven and laid to our charge or we can stand in His righteousness with our sins forgiven and washed away in the blood of the Lamb. I strongly encourage you to trust Him for salvation so that when physical death comes you will have no fear.
