Search the Scriptures Daily

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11)

Paul, when facing insurmountable opposition in Thessalonica, moved on to Berea. The Berean Christians had a wholesome view of the Word of God, unlike the folks in Thessalonica.

You and I would be wise not to resist the Sunday Sermon at church, but to receive it and let it feed our souls.

We should search the scriptures every day, praying over them and allowing the Holy Spirit time to give us the message God has for us from God’s Word. Searching the scriptures is a very rewarding exercise. The Psalmist said, “I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.” (Psalm 119:162) Searching the scripture is like hunting for and finding buried treasure.
