True Greatness

“Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.” (Psalm 71:21)

Greatness is not always to be associated with money, wealth, houses, lands or things. Greatness may be associated with service, ministry and obedience to God. Jesus stated that, “…among them that are born of women there has not risen a greater than John the Baptist.” (Matthew 11:11He said also that the greatest among you shall be your servant.

God may not increase your greatness in the eyes of men or by the world’s standard of measuring greatness. It is better to be great by God’s estimation than to be great in the eyes of fellowmen.

God is the God of all comfort. He comforts us in sorrow, sickness, pain, death and grief. He comforts us with His word, the Bible, and by the Holy Spirit. On whatever side we need comfort He is there to comfort us.
