Let’s Just Praise the Lord

“I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, Oh my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, Oh thou Holy One of Israel.” (Psalm 71:22)

“What is that in your hand?” God asked Moses. It was his shepherd’s rod. When God told him to cast it on the ground it became a serpent. The rod would be used to bring glory to God as Moses led the Children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage.

The aged psalmist had a psaltery and a harp in his hand. He would use these to praise the Lord. He would accompany himself as he sang praises to Him.

What do you have in your hand? We can praise God with our mouths. And if we cannot sing and if we cannot play a musical instrument, we can praise Him with what we have. We can praise Him with our hands as we help others. We can praise Him with our feet as we walk with Him. I learned a long time ago that we can praise Him with our automobiles as we take people to church where they can hear the gospel. We can praise with our tithes and offerings and other gifts.

Let’s just praise the Lord!
