The root cause of murder, mass killings and other sins is a heart that has not been changed. Jeremiah the prophet wrote, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked.” (Jeremiah 17:9)
The Bible says, “Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” (I John 3:15) I think of Cain, the firstborn of Adam and Eve and brother of Abel. He killed his younger brother, Abel, because, “he was of the wicked one, his own works were evil, and his brother’s works were righteous before God. (I John 3:12) What was Cain’s weapon, It must have been a rock or a club or perhaps a noose made of a vine or maybe Cain drowned Abel.
It is not accessibility to guns and weapons that is the problem; it is wickedness of the unchanged, unconverted heart. Jesus Christ alone is able to fix the problem of the heart.
