"Trust in the Lord with
all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall
direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Many years ago I was privileged
to be the pastor of an elderly lady who had crippling arthritis. In addition, she had been in a very serious
automobile accident that, even without the arthritis, would have left her
confined to her wheel chair and bed.
Her ailments were not the major
part of her makeup. She had a glowing spirit
about her and was able to handle her pain and disability better than could be
imagined.
Her favorite passage of
Scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6. Before her
passage from this life to the next, she requested that when the time came I use
those verses in her funeral message. Her sweet spirit, as a result of allowing
those verses to be her comfort and strength, has been a source of inspiration
for me and many others as well.
Let me encourage you to allow
those verses to guide you through the many trials and burdens of this life.
