"Let us search and try our
ways, and turn again to the Lord."
(Lamentations 3:40)
The late, Dr. Vance Havner,
when speaking of revival said, "Most folk's idea of revival is the
gathering in of more of the same kind of people most churches already have too
many of." That is not the best
English, but sadly it is an accurate statement.
Revival is not for the world,
it is for God's people. We must do as Jeremiah
called on God's people to do: Search our
ways, try our ways, and turn again to
the Lord. Failing to follow that counsel
will leave us in an even bigger mess than we now find ourselves.
