“Hearken,
my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith,
and heirs of the kingdom which He hath promised to them that love Him?" (James 2:5)
Our
Savior, though He was rich, yet for our sakes He became poor that we through
His poverty might be made rich. (II Corinthians 8:9) On earth He had no
place to lay His head. When He died He was placed in a borrowed tomb.
It has
been said that God must have loved poor folks because He made so many of us.
Jesus said that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle,
than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God
